Brazilian Percussion Classes PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 27 August 2007 07:23

The sound of a Samba School bateria (percussion section) by itself is extremely impressive. Every week we have 'Introduction to Brazilian Percussion' classes, where people are introduced to most instruments of samba, including repinique, surdo, tamborim, ganzá, reco-reco, agogô and caixa. We also play a number of different Afro-Brazilian rhythms such as samba-reggae and baiao.

These classes are open to everyone and you can join at any time. No previous percussion experience is required, as you will quickly pick up the rhythms from our experienced percussionists. Members in our group have various levels of experience, and experienced percussionists are encouraged to join us as well. Fun is guaranteed for everyone!
