The time has come ... almost half the samba school will be flying to Brazil in the next few days to celebrate the real Rio Carnaval! So in the meantime, until 30 March, we won't have any samba rehearsals in Brisbane (but we will have lots of fun in Rio!!!). We'll be back with lots of new ideas! |

 On our way to the Gold Coast Next year is again going to be better. We will keep this web site much more up to date, and might even do a re-design. And ... about 10 of us will be going to the Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro to get some further inspiration! So watch this space... |

Happy New Year! And what a great year it was. We had so many fantastic reactions to all the things we did, and even more important, we had a great time, with lots of music and great performances.
And 2004 is going to be bigger and better...so watch this space!

It has been a busy time! Our first concert at the Brisbane Powerhouse was a great success, and the bateria is growing very fast. We have also performed during the "Rhythm of Peace" parade, and are warming up for the Lexmark Indy in Surfers Paradise for 3 parades in a row! |

We are excited about a rather unusual event: in December, the Brisbane Samba School will be part of the 'Uncharted' performances with Vulcana's Women's Circus here in Brisbane. "Uncharted takes you on a journey to an exciting but hidden place on the map that has been uncovered by members of the migrant and refugee communities of Logan and Brisbane through circus, capoeira, puppetry, music and dance". Of course, we'd never expected in our wildest dreams to ever play with a circus, so this is going to be a once in a lifetime experience! Details about the performances can be found in our gigs section.
